Bosmina spBIGBosmina sp (Water Flea- Cladocera)

Collected: Upper Chesapeake Bay in Middle River using a 153 micrometer mesh plankton net, Surface tow. Summer 2004.

Notes: Bosmina are freshwater water fleas occasionally found in the upper reaches of estuaries in low salinities. This specimen is brooding eggs beneath the carapace (stained pink with Rose Bengal). Bosmina are  small water fleas. This one is ~0.2 mm long
