Location: North Inlet, SC (marsh creek) Collected using a plankton net with a 153 μm mesh.Notes:Oithona is one of the most common copepods in estuarine and nearshore waters. It is also among the smallest. Note the relatively short antennae.



Oithona similis

Collected at night 50-80 kilometers off of Barnegat, NJ.n

Notes: Oithona similis is one of several species of Oithona typical of offahore waters. It is much more streamlined than O. colcarva.
